Letter to the 4th Congressional District Voters:
Israel, Immigration and Jobs are the issues the press is asking about this week.
On Israel, our national goal is to stand with our strongest Middle East ally, Israel, and seek a two-state solution for peace.
Hamas rockets must stop. Progress towards peace requires our solid support for Israel. The current war has taken a toll on civilians in Gaza and Israel. Air travel to Tel Aviv has been halted. Israel needs a friend in Washington in Congress from Milwaukee. I will be there where Rep. Moore has not.
On Immigration, the children from Central America must be treated with dignity. We are a great country with an appeal to people all around the world; we stand for liberty … we stand for opportunity.
I oppose fully the Obama Administration deportation policy which divides and destroys family. Let us look at the Statue of Liberty and remember what it means.
But jobs remain issue number one!
On the Mike Gousha Show this weekend, Rep. Moore cited the Talgo train and dredging as examples of accomplishments. There is so much more I want to do to help families with new jobs and economic development.
Therefore, I call on the League of Women Voters, MMAC and the NAACP to host 3 debates. I will be sending out a press release and letter on this.
The voters deserve this open debate. I will do all I can to give it to them!
As we move closer to the election, I will continue to seek out voters in their neighborhoods.
It was great to be part of the last St. Veronica’s Festival close to Howard and Howell on the Southside on Saturday.
On Tuesday, I attended a breakfast meeting of the Men of Faith who meet at the New Testament Church on 102nd and Bradley Rd. We discussed the role of faith and the need for our leaders to serve the people.
Attending the Shorewood Village Board Meeting on Monday helps me understand current local issues.
As a member of Congress, I will work with Shorewood, South Milwaukee, Bayside, Brown Deer, Fox Point, St. Francis, Cudahy, West Milwaukee, Glendale, Whitefish Bay, as well as the City of Milwaukee, to deliver federal funds to support property tax relief. We can do better!
